Katta are the most prevalent race of Shapeir and Raseir. They are feline humanoids, known for their abilities as artisans. They are masters of subtle magic unique to their species -- including enchanting items and altering the appearance of another's clothing. They love dry, hot climates and do not do well in cold and damp weather. They are also known for being fantastic merchants. Physically, Katta are covered in fur and are shorter than most humans, yet taller than Gnomes.

Katta are all related to each other in one way or another, and as such they have a strong feeling of community. One who is called a "Katta-Friend" by one Katta is known to be a friend to all Katta. This can be marked by a Sapphire Pin.

The Katta consider Raseir to be their homeland, although many have traveled from that city for a number of reasons. When Khaveen, Ad Avis and Ali al-Din Hasan took over the city, however, they banished the Katta. The refugees fled across Gloriana, though most relocated to Shapeir.
