The Gnomish race has produced several great Gnome Heroes in its history, though none so great as those that have been seen since the fall of the great techno-city Gnomeregan. At first, acclimating to life amidst their Dwarven allies, a group of Gnomish adventurers could be found Anvilmar in the Coldridge Valley of Dun Murogh. Alongside several Dwarven adventurers, this group set off on an epic journey of great adventure. Amongst the group were Mages, Warlocks, Rogues, and Warriors.

Traveling alongside the Dwarves, the Gnomes ventured throughout Dun Murogh into the regions of Loch Modan and the Wetlands. Before long, the Gnomes had joined alongside the great Champions of the Alliance, questing throughout Azeroth and eventually crossing through the Dark Portal to defend their homeworld from the terrors of the Burning Legion and the deceit of the crazed Illidan Stormrage alongside the Champions of Azeroth.

The heroes ventured to Northrend soon afterwards to battle the Scourge and the Lich King. At the onset of this, Gnomish Death Knights joined the curious band of heroes from the Alliance -- freed from the Scourge alongside the other Knights of the Ebon Blade. The Gnomes helped battle the Scourge, as well as the mad Dragon Aspect Malygos and, quite accidentally, uncovered the fact that their race had originated from Mechagnomes created by the Titans.

When they returned from Northrend, High Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque launched Operation: Gnomeregan in an effort to reclaim their irradiated city. The Gnome Heroes leapt at the opportunity and with their help, the Gnomes were able to recover the upper levels of Gnomeregan. Several surviving gnomes were found, almost completely sane, and they were cured of their irradiation. Perhaps in part due to this success, or perhaps because of the Shattering that rocked the world, many Gnomes converted to worship of the Holy Light. The Gnome Heroes found this very useful when Gnomish Priests began to offer their healing abilities to the cause of defending Azeroth from evil.

Notable MembersEdit

For the simplicity of this Wiki, we take the stance that there is at least one Champion of Azeroth of each race/class combination available in the game.
