Devon Aidendale and a Riding Saurus in the AGDI VGA remake

Traveling in the deserts of Shapeir is perilous without the aid of the hardy Riding Saurii, tamed saurii that can withstand the heat of the desert. They are also known for their "homing ability" which allows them to find their way back to their stable from anywhere in the desert. Most riding saurii are fully capable of fighting and they often defend their riders. Emir Arus al-Din was transformed into a Riding Saurus by a spell cast by Ad Avis.

The Emir revealed in the VGA QfG2!

Official Description[]

  • "The friend you can depend upon for roaming the dunes. This creature makes an excellent mount. It is fearless, loyal, and quick to defend its master against monsters. It is obedient and willing to go wherever its master wishes. Most critically, it can always find its way back to the place where it is stabled, so it never gets lost. A properly trained Saurus will understand such simple commands as "go home," "Stay," and "Get off my foot." Your Saurus -- Don't leave town without it." (Excerpt from QfG2 Manual)

Real World[]

Riding saurii appear in Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire, and a specific one, the Emir, is purchased by the player. In the remake by AGDI, the player receives a second saurus for the caravan to Raseir, which will enter combat.
