Dwarves

A Gray Dwarf, Shield Dwarf, and Gold Dwarf

The Dwarves or Stout Folk are a race of short people, standing no more than 4 1/2 feet, though no less than 4 feet, in height. They are nearly as wide as they are tall, being compact creatures made of nearly solid muscle. They are known for their resilience to physical and magical damage, their powerful work ethic, and their love of ale. They are also known to be skillful warriors. Physically, there is much diversity, with skin tones that range from deep tan to light brown and hair that can be black, gray, or brown. In Dwarven culture, the beard is prized so nearly all Dwarven men sport one.

Official DescriptionsEdit

  • "Dwarves are known for their skill in warfare, their ability to withstand physical and magical punishment, their hard work, and their capacity for drinking ale. Dwarves are slow to jest and suspicious of strangers, but they are generous to those who earn their trust. They stand just 4 to 4 1/2 feet tall, but are broad and compactly built, almost as wide as they are tall. Dwarven skin varies from deep tan to light brown, and their hair is black, gray, or brown. Dwarven men value their beards highly." (Excerpt from the Neverwinter Nights manual)

Real WorldEdit

Dwarves are a playable race in most Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, including the video game Neverwinter Nights.
